Overview

Founded in 1791 as the fifth college in New England (after the original four Ivy League schools), the University of Vermont sits in beautiful Burlington above Lake Champlain. The campus and community are decidedly laid-back, social-justice oriented and environmentally focused. UVM has long been known as a relaxed school for skiers and snowboarders, or for those who simply love the outdoors.
