Overview

Like many very large state schools, Iowa State University offers a practical, economical, hands-on education to its largely rural Iowa student base. Consequently, its strengths are in agriculture and engineering (particularly mechanical, agricultural and aerospace engineering), where it has some of the top programs in the country. Add to those strengths a warm, friendly atmosphere and a school spirit that is abuzz year round, and you can see why ISU produces a very happy graduate who is hard working, conservative and reliable.
