Overview

Bowling Green, which celebrated its centennial in 2010, was originally established as a teacher training institute. The school has garnered a strong reputation in terms of K-12 teacher training, was actually one of the first universities to offer a neuroscience program, and has recognized strengths in industrial and organizational psychology. Sports teams have been called the Falcons since 1927, which was certainly a big improvement over (among other monikers) the “BG Pedagogues.”
