Overview

Appalachian State has come a long way from its modest beginnings as a tiny teacher’s college more than a century ago. The university currently enrolls in excess of 15,000 undergrads in more than 150 majors. Located in the town of Boone, North Carolina (named after Daniel Boone), in an area of great natural beauty, just a couple of miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian State excels in the College Experience. Among institute focal points are sustainability and entrepreneurship.
