Overview

Allegheny College, a small, liberal arts school located in a picturesque region of Pennsylvania about 20 miles south of Erie, is justifiably proud of its long history and United Methodist background. Founded in 1815, and thus one of America’s oldest institutes of higher education, Allegheny was a pioneer in progressive issues such as gender equality, admitting female students as far back as 1870.
